Today we've got a new recording from the Bay Area Scala Enthusiasts meetup.
David Pollak creator of the Lift web framework, will discuss moving beyond object-oriented programming. The promise of OO was that we would be able to use objects to interconnect and compose into larger and more complex systems. It turns out that effective programming is about operations, not the data. By divorcing operations from the data, we get code that can be re-used a lot more effectively than OO classes. David will also discuss partially applied functions inspired by Unix pipes.
