Hello World, again!

Welcome to g33ktalk, where we interview top developers and CTOs about the cutting edge technologies they’re using to build innovative solutions within their companies. We focus on real-world applications and use cases; we’re talking to awesome engineers about real challenges and opportunities related to their implementation of cool tech.

What software engineer out there doesn’t want to learn about and work with new development tools and technologies? Problem is, most of us are busy maintaining legacy systems, or perhaps hacking new features on a platform where we weren’t part of the original technology implementation choices. Not to mention the fact that when we do get that rare opportunity to start something from scratch and we pitch our CTO on a cutting edge language or tool, we oftentimes get a raised eyebrow and questions about maturity and ‘maintainability.’

Don’t get me wrong - these are great questions and always need to be kept in perspective. But the goal of these interviews are to show you who else is out there now using that new(ish) language in a real-world app, and to make your own investigation of the pros/cons of that new technology that much easier.

Finally, at g33ktalk, we’re very interested in the team dynamic and engineering culture present at the companies that we talk with. We want to know what’s cool about working there, and why our audience (top engineers themselves!) would potentially want to go work at that company. Everyone knows engineers are in high demand, and we want to introduce you to some amazing companies and engineering teams so that you, yourself have more data the next time you’re thinking about making that big career move.

We’ll be building our library of content over time, and we want to hear if this content (and format) has value for you! Please let us know in the comments, or hit us on Twitter at @g33k_talk.

Thanks, and enjoy!
