Bitly: Hilary Mason on Data tools and challenges

Bio: Hilary Mason is the Chief Scientist at bitly, co-organizer of DataGotham and a member of NYC Resistor. She's also a co-founder of HackNY, a non-profit organization that connects talented student hackers from around the world with startups in NYC, not to mention that Hilary recently started the data science blog Dataists.  Regarding her talk on the O´Reilly Strata Conference, Miss Mason gave a broad walkthrough on the existence of Big Data in the present world, the challenges/opportunities that people are facing when managing Big Data in real time and how a company like Bitly handles that Data. She takes her time in dissecting and informing the public about the 3 main data types that Bitly deals with, namely narcissistic data, segments of data and the global vision of data.
